The hotel was built in 1978 on a property of 2,040 sqm according to the land registry and expanded in 2001. It impresses with its good tourist location close to the skiing area (ski bus stop right up to the house) to numerous well-known Zillertal skiing areas, such as Penken near Mayrhofen and Zillertalarena near Zell am Ziller.

In addition to the mountain railways in the neighbouring villages, Ramsau's location in the Zillertal offers numerous winter hiking trails, as well as excursion opportunities for ski tourers, snowshoe hikers, tobogganers, cross-country skiers and all other winter sports enthusiasts.

But also in summer, in addition to traditional sports such as hiking, jogging, cycling, tennis or swimming, sports such as golf (in future on the projected Uderns golf course), paragliding or rafting can be practised nearby. The provincial capital of Innsbruck can also be reached by car in about three quarters of an hour, as can Lake Achensee to the north with its numerous water sports opportunities.
