Kufstein: The smallest district in Tyrol is Kufstein, with a total area of 970 square kilometres and a population of just over 111,000. Kufstein has now developed into a hub for trade and transport. Its location on the German border makes the district particularly interesting for logistics companies. Other companies from industry and commerce have also settled here. Thanks to the direct connection to the motorway, Kufstein is well connected and also easily accessible by public transport. The number of farms and farmland is high in Kufstein. Lienz: East Tyrol, i.e. the district of Lienz, is the largest district in Tyrol with an area of 2020 square kilometres. Numerous ski resorts and the Hohe Tauern National Park attract thousands of tourists to the district every year. In the last year of crisis, 8,800 tourists spent the night in East Tyrol. The purchase of real estate and building land as well as the renting of residential, office and commercial space is favourable in East Tyrol in comparison to the rest of Tyrol.
