The Tyrolean real estate market

In 2020, a condominium cost an average of 278,838 euros, according to Statistics Austria. That is about 2,452 euros per square metre. A further increase in the value of real estate in Tyrol can be expected. Especially popular are those houses and flats in the district of Kitzbühel, where an average price of 6 270 euros/square metre is charged. In Schwaz, Innsbruck-City and Innsbruck-Country, the purchase prices increased the most in 2020, while those in the districts of Reutte and Landeck decreased.

The high rental prices in Tyrol result from the strong increase in the purchase of properties by Germans - who mainly buy properties in Kitzbühel and the district of Schwaz - and by South Tyroleans, who buy residential space along the Wipp and Stubaital valleys and in the provincial capital of Innsbruck. This also results in a disparity in property prices between the Tyrolean districts. In addition, real estate funds and real estate-oriented investors are increasingly active in Tyrol, which leads to an increase in rental and purchase prices.

Popular places to live in Tyrol

Tyrol offers numerous places where people can live close to nature and still be well connected. Thanks to the well-developed transport network, cities, shopping facilities or leisure activities are easily accessible even in rural areas.
