Save energy in the home? No problem. But have you thought about reducing your energy consumption outside your own four walls? As a real estate agent in Tyrol, I meet people again and again who even save energy on the road. I'll tell you how they do it in this article.
Car-free: Use cycling, public transport and car sharing for a better energy balance!
Maybe you can't hear it anymore, but cars are not only money guzzlers, but also energy guzzlers. That's why I recommend that you use other means of transport as often as possible.
A healthy and cost-effective alternative is the bicycle. It is particularly suitable for short distances. If you cycle 10 kilometres a day instead of using your car, you save around 350 kilograms ofCO2 emissions a year.
For longer distances or in the cold season, a bicycle is of course not the ideal solution. Instead, you can use public transport, carpool or even use a car-sharing service.
Reusable instead of disposable: Replace the "plastic bag" with recycled shopping bags
Who hasn't experienced it: You are standing at the checkout in the supermarket and have bought more than you had actually planned. Without further ado, you reach for the plastic bag. At home, it might be used as a rubbish bag and finally thrown away.
Over the years, a mountain of plastic bags accumulates that are thrown away after just one use - anything but sustainable or energy-saving.
An alternative to these are reusable, recycled and foldable shopping bags. According to the manufacturer, these pay for themselves after only 5 uses.
As a tip, put one of the foldable bags in your work bag or backpack. Women should also stow one in their favourite handbag. That way, you always have something to stow away, even for impulse purchases.
I hope these tips encourage you to save someCO2 on the road too.
