If you've been following this blog over the last few months, you've probably noticed one or two posts on the subject of saving energy.
Today's post concludes my energy-saving tip series and deals with advertising inserts.
If you are like many people, leaflets regularly land in your letterbox, which you occasionally leaf through and then throw away. Some people skip leafing through and put the advertising material straight from the letterbox into the bin.
No-advertising sticker avoids vast amounts of paper waste
Every year, every household receives about 24 kilograms of woven inserts (source: Climate Alliance). Just so you can imagine this mass: A 1,000-page book - like "Harry Potter", "Lord of the Rings" or "War and Peace" - weighs about one kilo. According to Adam Riese, this means: 24 kilos of paper correspond to about 24,000 pages.
24 books with more than 1,000 pages you can put on a bookshelf; 24 books full of advertising, on the other hand, rather not...
The no-advertising sticker provides a remedy. This saves you 24 kilograms of paper waste per year. On the one hand, this relieves your back and, on the other, the environment.
This concludes my last contribution in the series "Energy-saving tips from an estate agent". I hope you were able to gain useful tips and information in one or two of the contributions that will reduce your energy consumption.
